"The Better Blanket"
The double net erosion control blanket is a machine-produced mat of 100% agricultural weed-free straw with an expected longevity of up to 12 months. (Longevity may vary due to climatic conditions, geographic location, and elevation). The blanket will be made out of a consistent thickness with straw spread evenly throughout the entire blanket. A polypropylene netting will cover the blanket on both the top and bottom. The netting material used consists of an approximate .50 x .50 inch mesh with photodegradable accelerant (breaks down in the light) to provide breakdown within 6-18 months. The blanket is sewn together on 2.0 inch centers with photodegradable thread.
“The Better Blanket” meets all requirements established by the Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) Specification and the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA).
